RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The former Reynolds Packaging facility in downtown Richmond will soon be converted into residential and retail space.
Last night the Richmond City Council gave the green-light to allow WVS Cos. and Fountainhead Development LLC to start Phase I on the construction of 200 apartments along the canal between 10th and 11th streets and 12th and 13th streets.
The renovation would open up the length of the Canal Walk that previously had been blocked at the Reynolds facility.
Retail stores and restaurants are also planned for the area, hopefully bringing more pedestrian traffic along the canal.
